PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS CONTINGENT COMMANDERS (PKOCCC) COURSE

The aim of this course is to prepare course participants for duty as a Contingent Commander in a United Nations Peacekeeping Operation through a series of presentations and lessons that develop an understanding of the complex nature of multidimensional peacekeeping, including; the legal framework the UN operates under; the need for integration, communication and understanding in multilateral peace operations; gender, peace and security in peace operations and dealing with and understanding cross-cutting thematic issues including conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and the protection of civilians (POC).

Attendance on this course is reserved for those senior officers from Malaysia and overseas who have been identified for duty as Contingent Commanders in a UN PKO.
