
The Commandant of the Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC), Col Noor Azman bin Hj Yahya and Maj Mohd Izzad Mahizan bin Azizan RMAF (Staff Officer 2 Training Support) has visited the Peace Support Training Centre (PSTC), Kingston, Canada from 1st until 3rd October 2024. This 3-day visit was aimed to renew the commitment on enhancing International peacekeeping center capabilities by emphasizing the importance of collaboration in peace support operations through cooperation in bilateral programme between MPC and PSTC.
Lt Col Carl Chevalier, the Commandant from PSTC, has delivered the welcome brief, and facilitated for the facility tour including its UN Ops Village and the 4x4 Driving Circuit. The CIMIC programme in MPC later was discussed predominantly on CIMIC Training of Trainers (TOT) Course and CIMIC Course. Additionally, Mr. Paul from the Directorate of Military Training and Cooperation (DMTC), was also present, and assisting for course budgeting and fostering relationships that will support future cooperation.
This visit is indeed a significant effort towards enhancing International peacekeeping efforts. By fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and developing joint training initiatives, both Malaysia and Canada reaffirm their commitment to promoting global peace and security. As the complexities of peacekeeping evolve, such partnerships will be essential in preparing forces to effectively respond to the challenges ahead.
